Mode coupling and directional emission in mirocylinder lasers

CW Electrically injected AlGaInAs/InP microcylinder lasers are realized with 10μm radius and a 2μm-wide output waveguide at room temperature. High output efficiency is predicted for coupled microcylinders with an output waveguide by 2D FDTD simulation.
