Zusammenfassung:	The paper studies and assesses the application of an innovative solution based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in managing security and customs clearance operations. In order to improve these procedures the paper analyzes the main anomalies and bottlenecks related to the customs clearance procedures and proposes novel ICT based solutions. In order to analyze the impact of the new procedures on the overall logistic system, a real case study is modelled and simulated.
