description This paper proposes a new adaptive rate control algorithm for the reverse link of cdma2000 1x EV-DO Rev.A system. In this case, the terminals with good channel quality are able to get more data transmission space, while the terminals with poor channel quality can avoid the system instability which is caused by the increasing transmission power. Simulation results show that the new algorithm easily reduces the system load and improves the system throughput.
