Study on energy saving in residential buildings in the cold district

Energy consumption in buildings is relative to many factors such as shape coefficient of building, overall heat transfer coefficient of building envelope, area ratio of window to wall, exposed to the sun, times of air exchange etc.. But as for the energy-saving design of multi-storey residential bui...

description Energy consumption in buildings is relative to many factors such as shape coefficient of building, overall heat transfer coefficient of building envelope, area ratio of window to wall, exposed to the sun, times of air exchange etc.. But as for the energy-saving design of multi-storey residential buildings, the envelope's heat insulation is emphasized. This article put forward how to choose envelope's materials and make a conclusion that envelope's integrated thermal insulation for multi-storey residential buildings is essential to energy-saving effect of buildings by analyzing thermal properties, energy consumption, energy-saving and economy of conventional buildings envelope in the cold district. It is hoped that this could be a reference for designers of buildings.
