description In this paper, we propose a new and effective wood image retrieval scheme based on Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF). In our work, we extract SURF feature points and perform matching based on the texture information around the feature points using SURF method. This scheme can be adopted in most existing wood image retrieval systems and improve their retrieval accuracy and efficiency. Our several experiments show that the proposed scheme achieves high accuracy and stability by using SURF descriptor in wood image retrieval.
