A new non-repeated code type magnetic scale using a simple absolute head

The authors propose a new absolute magnetic scale which uses an absolute track, where the absolute position is written in series by using non-repeated codes, and an incremental track having a write-pitch synchronizing with it. They clarify its operation mechanism and characteristics.
