description In this paper some preliminary results of power allocation strategy in downlink cooperative MIMO applied to multi-carrier cellular systems are addressed and evaluated. The system model considers multi-antenna base stations communicating with single-antenna terminals simultaneously and the outage probability is evaluated for a given target rate tuple. Besides, optimal power allocation over the carriers is performed based on knowledge only of the channel statistics at the central station, which is a more realistic assumption and requires small additional backbone capacity. The results show that the proposed algorithm is able to minimize the system outage probability by exploiting the frequency diversity gains.
