description The regional eco-environment quality is the base of the sustainable development. This paper developed an eco-environmental vulnerability evaluation model using spatial principle component analysis (SPCA) and eco-environment vulnerability index method. This method was carried out in a case study of Hubei Province, China. The vulnerability was classified into six levels: potential, slight, light, medial, heavy, and extreme level. The results showed that the majority of Hubei Province was at slight, light or medial vulnerable level and the environmental vulnerability was increased from south to north.
