description Resource sharing on manufacturing grid (MG) consists of two parts: resource provision and resource application, which are connected by resource discovery. With focus on resource application, this paper studies the problem of resource discovery in broad area. In order to solve problems with centralism and distributional structure for ASP deployment, we propose a multilevel-tree overlay network structure for ASP deployment. Its nodes are highly autonomous and mutually supportive, thus they form tight and flexible information route topology. Among its many enterprise-oriented and application-oriented features, this structure allows for retrieval and multi-spot discovery of resource in broad area. We describe the process of resource discovery based on the structure in detail. Finally, its validity was illustrated with quantified examples and a demo prototype.
