description | Bandwidth demands of new applications, particularly the multimedia services have stimulated the technological advancements in wireless and optical fields. Subscribers now demand much more capacity. Providing such high capacity is possible by integrating the high capacity of optical networks and flexibility of radio networks. Certain problems exist in the existing radio-over-fiber (RoF) architectures. These include complexity, cost of deployment, and constraint on transmission distance. This paper is focused to solve these problems. We have proposed RoF network architecture to provide wireless and wired access services. Our simulation results show that the extracted signals by this scheme exhibit high transmission performance, over 45 km SMF fiber. BER of 10^-13 was observed. |
