description In this paper, fuel cell system for low voltage/high current applications is proposed. The system can be easily achieved by limiting output current of fuel cell using current-mode control. A current-mode control can be implemented by using a PWM IC simply. Also, the proposed system has the advantages of simple charging/discharging algorithm, reduced size/cost and losses compared with conventional hybrid fuel cell systems due to using second power sources without a bi-directional DC/DC converter. For this work, the proposed system operations are explained and examined experimentally.
