Zusammenfassung:Terrestrial television broadcasting has always been an interference limited service. With the simultaneous transition to digital television and the reduction in RF spectrum, made necessary by demands for new wireless services, receiver design must give more attention than ever to mitigating interference. This paper will describe how receiver designs affect adjacent channel interference rejection and how interference from signals on what were once called UHF Taboo channels affect DTV reception and how such interference can be mitigated through suitable receiver design processes. Of particular importance is interference generated by signals on certain pairs of channels which falls in the desired channel as co-channel noise. This interference and that from a signal on a first adjacent channel is due to receiver non-linearity, usually occurring in the mixer.
