description The Sudbury Structure has been used as a test site for various geological remote sensing verification studies. The authors have received and processed a number of new data sets for geological interpretation. The data sets include two sets of ERS-1 SAR, two sets of CCRS's airborne C-SAR, a number of airborne geophysical data and various ground survey data. Recently there were also a number of LITHORPOBE related experiments including the regional and high resolution reflection seismic surveys (1991) and a high resolution seismic refraction survey (1992). The space-borne and airborne SAR data were processed for look direction bias correction and integrated with other geological and geophysical data sets for detailed subsurface geological interpretation. The multi-sensor geophysical data grid files have been converted into digital images, geometrically corrected, filtered to eliminate noise, and some resampled to obtain identical spatial coordinates and dimension size for all the data images. Integration of multiple sets of SAR data are carried out utilizing the wavelet transform technique. The results of preprocessed and integrated data sets are interpreted and compared with the available geological maps and recent seismic data for subsurface modeling. The results indicate that the combined interpretation of the SAR image data, seismic data and radioelement (obtained by combining the radioelement image and the ratio images) is effective for defining the areas of specific lithology, geological structures and lithological fabrics.< >
