Fundamental and applied research on doubly-fed induction generator

The doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) plays an increasingly important role in the fast growing wind energy industry. This paper presents results from fundamental research which gives some analytical insights into the success and the limits of the DFIG in wind farm applications.
