Hybrid approach to image segmentation applied on human karyotype determination
This work points out the problems that occur during the manual karyotype generation. An introduction to segmentation algorithms is presented, with emphasis on "thresholding". A new segmentation algorithm is proposed which yields good results when applied to chromosome separation problem.
