A tool for analysis of Internet metrics
Estimating the performance parameters of Internet is not an easy task, currently several estimation tools exist and many others are under development. Unfortunately, the tools only estimate a single metric, are not always robust and do not provide a friendly interface to the user. In this document,...

description | Estimating the performance parameters of Internet is not an easy task, currently several estimation tools exist and many others are under development. Unfortunately, the tools only estimate a single metric, are not always robust and do not provide a friendly interface to the user. In this document, we present a novel multimetric analysis tool that is able to estimate accurately the most important Internet metrics and gives estimations of the Hurst parameter as well. The tool estimates bandwidth, delay and traffic characterization metrics. This novel tool is expected to be helpful to network administrators, managers, researchers and users in the networking community since it integrates the metrics important for the complete characterization of a network. These metrics are important for network characterization and QoS. |
