description The structure of an electrooptics modulator is proposed which permits to overcome the limitations imposed by the parameters of control channel. The basic elements of the modulator are electrically controlled fibre Bragg gratings. The proposed structure makes it possible to obtain the modulation of optical radiation with double frequency compared with other modulators with the same electronic control circuits. In the report we calculate the modulation characteristics of such a modulator, consider the different conditions of it operating and estimate the possibility of farther increasing the speed of modulation by optimisation of the parameters of fibre Bragg gratings. The proposed device is compact and can be easily connected with optical fibre links.
