Zusammenfassung: | An epidural blood patch is a primary treatment for spontaneous intracranial hypotension. The traditional epidural blood patch is not readily available in some institutions, including referral centers. Here, we report an alternative method for performing epidural blood patch that is based on the experience in neurology practice. In this method, the epidural space is located by checking the tissue resistance in a stepwise manner using a spinal needle and tuberculin syringe. The procedures are described here in detail. Six consecutive cases of spontaneous intracranial hypotension were successfully treated with this alternative method for performing an epidural blood patch. |
