X and γ detection with HgI 2 single crystals obtained by the forced flux method

Nuclear detection properties of mercuric iodide single crystals obtained by the forced flux method are presented for the X-ray domain and for γ-rays of 60 and 122 keV. We study the correlation between detector performance and material purification stage.
