Zusammenfassung: | The dry friction of a titanium alloy TA6V tribo-pairs was examined for low sliding velocity using a special tribometer device. The results show that the effect of friction heating during sliding leads to a softening of the surface and, as a result, adhesive wear and abrasive wear take place on the worn surface. The sub-surface can be described as a multi-layer microstructure having their origin in different thermo-mechanical mechanisms—recrystallised, phase transformed and severely deformed layer are superposed depending on the sliding velocity.
► Sub-surface of titanium alloys according to the sliding velocity during friction test in the case of TA6V/TA6V tribopairs. ► Study of the fiction test and discuss mechanism of formation of the different sub-layers formed during sliding. ► Presentation of a specific tribometer. |
