L’écriture d’exil d’Elisa Chimenti, une mosaïque des voix et de créations des femmes entre métissage et transgression

An Italian-born writer, journalist, educator and anthropologist, Elisa Chimenti has lived most of her life in Tangier, Morocco, devoting herself to dialogue between cultures, languages and religions through both teaching and writing. All her work is aimed at the preservation and dissemination of Moroccan legends and traditions, and in particular of the international city of Tangier, a meeting place of Berber, Maghrebi, African, Middle Eastern and European cultures. Particular attention is paid to the poetic and cultural heritage of the extremely rich Mediterranean women's oral tradition that nourrish her work. On the basis of some published and unpublished works, we will attempt to answer the following questions: What is the specificity of the writing of this author in exile, with a plural and indeterminate identity? What role is it played by the presence of the women oral patrimony in her work characterized by crossbreeding and hybridity? Écrivaine, journaliste, pédagogue, anthropologue, d’origines italiennes, Elisa Chimenti a vécu presque toute sa vie au Maroc, se vouant au dialogue entre les cultures, les langues et les religions, à travers l’enseignement aussi bien que l’écriture. Elle consacre toute son œuvre à la sauvegarde et à la diffusion des légendes et des traditions marocaines, et notamment de la ville internationale de Tanger, lieu du métissage entre les cultures berbère, maghrébines, de l'Afrique, du Moyen Orient et de l’Europe. Une attention particulière est portée à la très riche tradition orale féminine de la Méditerranée qui nourrit son œuvre. À partir de quelques-uns de ses ouvrages publiés et inédits, nous essayerons d’aborder les questions suivantes : quelle est la spécificité de l’écriture de cette autrice en exil, à l’identité plurielle et indéterminée ? Quel rôle joue en particulier la reprise du patrimoine oral féminin dans son œuvre caractérisée par le métissage et l’hybridation ?
