description An Italian-born writer, journalist, educator and anthropologist, Elisa Chimenti has lived most of her life in Tangier, Morocco, devoting herself to dialogue between cultures, languages and religions through both teaching and writing. All her work is aimed at the preservation and dissemination of Moroccan legends and traditions, and in particular of the international city of Tangier, a meeting place of Berber, Maghrebi, African, Middle Eastern and European cultures. Particular attention is paid to the poetic and cultural heritage of the extremely rich Mediterranean women's oral tradition that nourrish her work. On the basis of some published and unpublished works, we will attempt to answer the following questions: What is the specificity of the writing of this author in exile, with a plural and indeterminate identity? What role is it played by the presence of the women oral patrimony in her work characterized by crossbreeding and hybridity?
