Zusammenfassung:Data are presented on the partitioning of aerosol particles between cloud droplets and interstitial air, gleaned from the Kleiner Feldberg Cloud Experiment conducted in Germany in 1990. The time variation of the size-dependent partitioning is presented, as well as the integral partitioning of number and volume for different periods. The cloud droplets and interstitial particles were characterized separately but simultaneously. Two distinct periods were identified, characterized by the origins of the air masses, which were reflected in the aerosol particle-size distributions. During both periods, the variation with time of the size-dependent partitioning was small. Nucleation scavenging and entrainment were found to be the most plausible processes affecting partitioning.
