Zusammenfassung:•We have synthetized a pre-condensed chiral hybrid organic inorganic sol gel precursor.•A single step dip-coating process provides a 4.5μm thick planar chirowaveguide.•Physical and chemical parameters are studied and adjusted to optimize the film.•The optical loss is lower the 1dB/cm and the highest optical rotation is 7°/mm.•We report an Eyring analysis of the racemization process. High optical quality chirowaveguides have been successfully prepared using a synthesized chiral organo-modified silane (ORMOSIL) precursor chemically transformed to a pre-condensed active material prior to dip coating.
