description In order to assemble polynuclear iron(III) complexes, the coordination chemistry of the 2-hydroxyethyl- 3,5-dimethylpyrazole (hedmp-H) ligand has been investigated. This aggregate has been characterized by employing various analytical techniques, spectroscopic studies and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Detailed magnetic susceptibility measurements revealed that 1 displays an ST = 5 ground state.
