Zusammenfassung: | A series of advances have pushed the instrumental capabilities of fMRI acquisition beyond what were seen as the likely biological limits to spatial and temporal localization of the hemodynamic response. This, together with the empirical observation that additional information emerges whenever spatiotemporal resolution is pushed forward, has led to the reevaluation of some of our thinking about the value of higher-resolution imaging, including widening our thinking to consider partial volume and nuisance fluctuation avoidance and the fundamental sampling efficiency of our imaging. |
