Zusammenfassung:Climate change has raised an alarm within the scientific community regarding carbon emissions in the environment. It is noted that the increased use of information technologies brings with it a rise in the production of electronic waste and its improper disposal, CO2 emissions, increased electricity consumption, among other issues. Federal Higher Education Institutions (IFES) are significant users of IT in fulfilling their core pillars of teaching, research, and extension. It has been observed that some sustainable practices, known as Green IT practices, have emerged with the aim of reducing IT's environmental impact, necessitating the identification of these practices in the literature. Thus, the objective of this article is to identify the main Green IT practices in the literature. As a methodology, a systematic literature review was conducted, illustrated through the PRISMA flowchart comprising the phases of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion of the articles used. As results, 18 Green IT practices were identified, such as server virtualization, proper disposal and recycling of electronic waste, acquisition of more energy-efficient equipment, among others. It is hoped that this research can contribute to advancing knowledge on the topic in question, highlighting the contribution of Green IT practices through this literature review, in the application of new approaches and solutions to be adopted in organizational environments.
