description | The COVID-19 pandemic has required preventive measures and the temporary suspension of services to mitigate the risk of transmission, which has impacted both demand and the provision of services. This study analyzed the indicators of access and continuity of care, performance and resolution to compare periods before and during the pandemic, respectively. The results showed a non-significant increase in spontaneous demand, which highlights a trend when elective and scheduled consultations and treatments are suspended. Continuity of care and collective actions had a significant reduction as of April 2020, in line with the guidelines for suspension of elective appointments. The present study showed that the pandemic had a negative impact on the supply of dental services in the studied units, which causes an overload on Oral Health teams and consequently increases the challenge of organizing the demand for health services. Keywords: COVID-19, Public Health Dentistry, Primary Health Care, Dental Health Services.
