Zusammenfassung:The petroleum ether soluble and insoluble fractions of the methanol extract of air dried stem extract of Daphne mucronata and a pure compound daphnin obtained from the more active petroleum ether insoluble fraction were evaluated for the pro-neurogenic activity on cortical and hippocampal primary cell cultures prepared from the neonatal mice brain. It showed significant proliferation of the cells as assessed by MTT assay
