Sphingosine-1-Phosphate Signaling in Oral Carcinogenesis

Oral Squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), a subtype of head & neck cancer, is the most common cancer in Indian men. Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), a potent oncogenic lipid, and its levels are regulated by eight enzymes including two sphingosine kinases (SphK1 and SphK2), five lipid phosphatases and a...

Zusammenfassung:Oral Squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), a subtype of head & neck cancer, is the most common cancer in Indian men. Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), a potent oncogenic lipid, and its levels are regulated by eight enzymes including two sphingosine kinases (SphK1 and SphK2), five lipid phosphatases and a S1P lyase. The role of S1P signaling in oral carcinogenesis is scantly studied.
