description Introduction: Asthma is a disorder caused by inflammation in the airways (called bronchi) that lead to the lungs. This inflammation causes airways to tighten and narrow, which blocks air from flowing freely into the lungs, making it hard to breathe. Symptoms include wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness and cough, particularly at night or after exercise/activity. Objective: The study was designed to document changes in serum magnesium level, serum CRP level and lipid peroxidation and antioxidant status in asthmatic patients. Methodology: 50 asthmatic patients of age group 20-50 years were enrolled for the study and were compared to 50 normal healthy individuals of same age. Those fulfilling inclusion and exclusion criteria were enrolled for the study & following tests were performed: Serum magnesium estimated by Xylidyl blue with ATCS method, Serum CRP estimated by Latex slide test, P-MDA estimated by Jean C.D. et. al. and Serum-SOD estimated by Mishra H.P.& Fridovich I method. Result: Increased CRP value (p

Result: Increased CRP value (p<0.001) was observed in asthmatic patients.
