description | The article discusses education as a political and emancipatory practice for the access and ascension of black women in the deliberative spaces of Brazilian central unions. The research used a qualitative and systematic explanatory approach, organized in the literature review procedure, in addition to the analysis of empirical material--fruit of a master's degree research developed at UFSB, through interviews with black women and union leaders. The historical trajectory of the insertion of women in the union movement and their main barriers in reaching management positions is reviewed. Education appears as a central factor in the political agenda of the category, a fact that is observed with emphasis from the democratic opening for social minorities in the post-dictatorial period. However, uncritical education does not produce positive effects for disadvantaged groups, dilating their capacity and only requalifying in the presence of an education for difference, based on intersectional markers. In the end, we conclude that the access and rise of black women in deliberative spaces are guided through the intersectional vision and education purged of alienations. |
