Zusammenfassung: | Each year, too many youth age out of foster care without connections to a permanent, loving family. In this study, we examine the impact of placement with family on youth well-being and legal permanency among a sample of youth who were in outof-home care. More time placed with family was associated with enhanced youth well-being. Further, the more time youth spent with family, the more likely and quickly they were to achieve legal permanency. A number of family-centered practices were identified as recommendations to improve child welfare outcomes. |
