In vitro incubations were conducted in sealed bottles containing 50 ml of the inoculum prepared using ruminal fuid and 0.5 g of each treatment. Gas production was determined in 96 consecutive hours. The cumulative gas production was greater when the corn was 100% replaced by SPF (224 [+ or -] 1.45 and 231.9 [+ or -] 1.45 ml/g DMi for 0 and 100% of replacement, P = 0.01).
