Zusammenfassung:Objective: to evaluate the nutritional profile and quality of life of individuals undergoing bariatric surgery in a public hospital of Goiania-GO, Brazil. Methodology: cross-sectional study conducted between August and November 2016, with 56 patients at the 6, 12 and 18-month postoperative period of Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass. Anthropometric profile, presence of comorbidities, life habits and quality of life were analyzed through the BAROS instrument. Results: 84% were female, with a mean age of 46 years (SD = 9.61), mostly wuth incomplete primary school level (44%). In the preoperative period the mean BMI was 50.1 kg/[m.sup.2] [+ or -] 8.37 and the weight loss was 8.7%. After bariatric surgery, the mean BMI was 35.7 kg / [m.sup.2] [+ or -] 7.09.
