description Agriculture can be seen as an isolated occupation as farmers work long hours, often alone and in bad weather conditions. Stress can arise from social and psychological conditions and can disrupt well-being and psychological functions. Recently there has been overall concern about the mental health problems of farmers. This study aims to fill an important gap in the mental health of farming for the sustainable agricultural system, for reducing the major potential risk factor affecting the mental health of farmers around the world. In this paper, based on a wide review of literature and discussions with farmers as well as experts in the agriculture field, the risk factors in agriculture leading to the mental stress of farmers were recognized. Subsequently, by the use of the fuzzy TOPSIS technique, all the identified risk factors were ranked based on their preference.
