The influence of oils with an increased content of omega-3 PUFA on the metabolic and immunological parameters of laying hens

The administration of omega-3 PUFA in the form of linseed and fish oil resulted in a significant increase in HDL cholesterol, eicosapentaenoic, docosahexaenoic and a-linolenic acids in the blood of experimental hens in comparison with the control and a decrease in cholesterol and arachidonic acid. description The administration of omega-3 PUFA in the form of linseed and fish oil resulted in a significant increase in HDL cholesterol, eicosapentaenoic, docosahexaenoic and a-linolenic acids in the blood of experimental hens in comparison with the control and a decrease in cholesterol and arachidonic acid. Oral administration of omega-3 PUFA increased slightly the immune response of experimental animals. The metabolic activity of phagocytes and polyclonal activation of lymphocytes showed no significant differences and persisted in the physiological range. Omega-3 PUFA alters the synthesis of eicosanoids and affects the metabolism of fatty acids.
