Zusammenfassung: | Research on catfish (Clarias gariepinus) culture subjected to several levels of organic waste conditioner. Water from catfish culture were used to water green mustard in vertical pots. Objective of this research were to know the effect of organic waste conditioner on water fertility and green mustard production. Economic of the system was analysed. Catfish were cultured in 12 fibreglass containers within 4 months period. Doses of the organic waste conditioner were 0, 10, 20 g Starbio/container/15 days. Everyday the water were used to water soil in vertical pots, which had 12 plants/pot. Green mustard seedlings were planted in the vertical pots. During one catfish culture period, there were two periods of green mustard cultivated. Results of this experiment indicated that the organic waste conditioner did not affect water fertility and green mustard production. During 4 months catfish culture period, the water fertility for plants were increased. In 1st and 2nd period, the production of green mustard were 362 and 1662 g/pot, respectively. Those production level was estimated to be equal with 20 and 92 percent as compared with plant which were fertilized normally, respectively. Normally one man may handle 300 vertical pots, 7 crop periods/year. One period required 10 man days, which is 4 days less than pot which fertilized normally (without catfish culture). Income per year on the production system of green mustard was Rp 512,500,- (Revenue Cost Ratio 1.37), when it fertilised normally was only Rp 137,500,- (Revenue Cost Ratio 1.08)
Penelitian telah dilakukan terhadap pemanfaatan air budidaya lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus) sebagai sumber air untuk tanaman Sawi dalam pot vertikal. Air tersebut mendapat perlakuan pemberian bahan pembenah limbah organik. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh bahan pembenah limbah organik terhadap kesuburan air dan produksi tanaman sawi. Kebutuhan tenaga kerja dan nilai ekonomi pada budidaya lele dumbo dan tanaman sawi tersebut juga diperhitungkan. Lele dumbo dipelihara dalam air bak (60 x 60 x 60 cm3) selama 4 bulan. Bahan pembenah limbah organik berupa Starbio diberikan ke dalam air bak sebanyak 0, 10, 20 g/bak/15 hari. Air dalam bak setiap hari diganti sebanyak 5 persen volume/bak.
