description | In 2013 our excavations were focus on the investigation of squares G-H/5-6, for leveles 2Bb2, 2Bb3, 2Bb4 of the jewelry workshop at Cheile Turzii - Peștera Ungurească/Peștera Caprelor. In level 2Bb2 the pottery was decorated with channels, alveoli, polished lines, incisions in network, hatched bands, painting, or impression in „furchenstich” technique encrusted with white. Pill shaped handles are present on all types of pottery. In level 2Bb3 incised decoration is present only on semi fine pottery. A bowl is decorated with white painting and motives organised in chess board; On a button through short incisions a highly stylized human figure was made. In level 2Bb4 have been discovered four golden pieces, one of them very similar with other from Moigrad hoard. Regarding the painted pottery this presents the same technology, the use of the white color, motives organised in lines or triangles. It is also present decoration made by incisions organised in bands or network, as well as polished lines or points. Again, pill shaped handles are present on all types of pottery. By chronological point of view the workshop belongs to the early stage of pill shaped handles, Sălcuța IV – Băile Herculane II-III – Cheile Turzii. There are pottery that may be ascribed to Bodrogkeresztúr II and elements that proove its evolution to Bodrogkeresztúr III, but a more refinate atribution we will make after the statistic analyse of the entire pottery. |
