Zusammenfassung:"St. John Chrysostom" wooden church in the Ursăței hamlet, village of Lelești, Lelești commune, Gorj county was built by the village council, its main founders being Pârvu Cucu, Petre Dovlete and Staicu Crivăț in 1791 and also „renewed beforehand" in 1845 by the inhabitants of the village led by the trustee Ion Talabă. The archaeological investigation was carried out inside the church and outside it, around the foundation and under it, because the restoration project provided consolidation works at the monument, by replacing beams and reinforcing with concrete and iron. Inside the church, the whole area was excavated down to -0.55 m to lay slag and wood flooring. No archaeological materials were found. In all the sections performed outside the church, along the foundation, under the beams, we discovered large river stones that supported the construction. Nearby there is a cemetery.
