description The nature and magnitude of the drug use and delinquency problem among youth living in Wyoming's Wind River Indian Reservation area were investigated in May 1972. A drug user was defined as any student who used marijuana or any other drug for pleasure or kicks during the preceding year. A self-report questionnaire was administered to 456 male and 391 female students at Lander Valley High School and Wind River High School. Some findings were: (1) 79.8 percent of the males and 81.1 percent of the females had used neither marijuana nor other drugs during the past year; (2) 1.1 percent of the males and 2.3 percent of the females had used other drugs but not marijuana; (3) 12.5 percent of the males and 7.7 percent of the females had used marijuana but not other drugs; and (4) 6.6 percent of the males and 9.0 percent of the females had used both marijuana and other drugs. This data book consists of 87 tables of data giving the responses to questionnaire items by drug and sex. Levels of significance are indicated below the tables when the differences existing in the response distribution have a probability of less than 5 in 100 of being attributable to chance. (NQ)
