Applications: fabrication of carbon fibers. Un nuevo procedimiento de separación de las fases isótropa y anisótropa (mesofase) de breas, mediante filtración en caliente. Se base en las diferencias de puntos de reblandecimiento de las dos fases, utilizándose una temperatura intermedia entre los dos puntos de reblandecimiento. De esta manera, se configura un sistema que se comporta como un sólido suspendido en un liquido viscoso, el cual permite la separación de las dos fases por simple filtración. Aplicaciones: se ha empleado para la fabricación de fibras de carbono. L'invention concerne un nouveau procédé de séparation des phases isotropes et anisotropes (mésophase) de poix au moyen d'une filtration à chaud. Pour ce faire, on tient compte des différences de points de ramollissement des deux phases et on chauffe à une température intermédiaire entre les deux points de ramollissement. Ainsi, on configure un système qui agit comme un solide suspendu dans un liquide visqueux, lequel permet la séparation des deux phases par simple filtration. Le procédé est mis en oeuvre pour la fabrication de fibres de carbone.
