Un nouveau procédé pour l'extraction de phosphore du lait de mammifère, de préférence du lait écrémé de bovin, a été développé. Le procédé comprend le passage du lait à température élevée à travers un matériau à échange d'ions à fort taux de base de type gel ou macroporeux type II, sous forme de chlorure ou de carbonate. Les emplacements d'anions à taux de base faible inhérents au matériau à échange d'ions ont été neutralisés. Le matériau à échange d'ions peut être facilement régénéré.
