Un procédé pour la commande d'une boîte de vitesses automatique d'un véhicule automobile prévoit pour l'amélioration du comportement avant les virages et lors du freinage qu'une fonction de frein moteur débute pour empêcher un processus de modification de changement de vitesses ou de rapport de transmission, dès que la pédale d'accélérateur est lâchée rapidement. Cette fonction de frein moteur est maintenue jusqu'à ce que soit détecté de nouveau un fonctionnement en traction et que le véhicule accélère. Ensuite est déclenché un temps d'arrêt pendant lequel la fonction de frein moteur est de nouveau activée dès que le véhicule passe en frein moteur.
