A method of erasing information recorded on said optical carrier consists in the excitation of a high-frequency electrical charge inside a sealed closed cavity (5) of the cylinder (1). An optical memorization device for implementation of said method has an information erasing unit (11) comprising a high frequency charge excitation circuit with electrodes (12, 13), between which an optical information carrier (10) is placed in order to excitate a high-frequency charge inside its sealed closed cavity (5). Un support d'informations optique comporte un cylindre (1) pourvu, à l'intérieur, d'une couche d'enregistrement (2), ainsi que des manchons (3, 4) montés sur les extrémités du cylindre (1) et qui isolent la couche d'enregistrement (2) de l'espace environnant. Une méthode d'effacement des informations enregistrées sur ledit support optique consiste à exciter une charge électrique à haute fréquence à l'intérieur d'une cavité (5) fermée et étanche du cylindre (1).
