Le milieu de suspension comprend entre environ 80 et 150 mM de glucose, entre 30 et 80 mM de mannitol, entre 6 et 90 mM de citrate de potassium, entre 1 et 5 mM d'adénine et entre 10 et 200 mM de chlorure d'ammonium ou d'acétate d'ammonium dans une solution aqueuse possédant un pH d'environ 6,8 à 7,2 et une osmolarité d'environ 180 à 220 milli-osmolar.
