COSMETIC TAPE, APPLICATOR THEREFOR AND METHOD

An adhesive tape and method for use thereof in non-surgically taking a tuck in loose skin such as that comprising the upper eyelid. When applied to a drooping upper eyelid by stretching the skin of the eyelid (10) away from ciliary margin, applying a precut, preshaped tape (32) to the eyelid, and then folding the skin of the upper eyelid (10) down to be attached to the other side of the tape and then back upon itself, a pseudo upper blepharoplasty is effected which can be left in place for extended periods of time, thus avoiding surgery. The adhesive strip (32) has a backing and adhesive such as to make the strip very thin, very soft and pliable, strong, tear resistant, easily conformed to body contours, non-irritating and water resistant. An applicator device (Fig. 18) having a receiving surface for releasably holding the adhesive strip to facilitate the applying of the strip to the skin surface is also claimed. Lorsque la bande est appliquée sur une paupière supérieure tombante en retirant la peau de la paupière (10) de la marge ciliaire, en appliquant un bout prédécoupé de bande (32) sur la paupière, et en repliant ensuite la peau de la paupière supérieure (10) vers le bas de manière à la coller sur l'autre côté de la bande en la rabattant sur elle-même, on exécute une pseudo-blépharoplastie supérieure qui peut être laissée en place pendant de longues périodes de temps, évitant ainsi une intervention chirugicale. La bande adhésive (32) possède un renforcement et une couche d'adhésif permettant d'obtenir une bande très mince, souple et pliable, forte et résistant aux déchirures, épousant aisément les contours du corps, non irritante et résistant à l'eau. Un dispositif applicateur (Fig. 18) possédant une surface réceptrice maintenant la bande adhésive de manière à en faciliter l'application sur la surface de la peau est également décrit.
