description When processing the drilling mud by passing it through the electrical field of the negative electrode of an electrolyzer the tension on the electrodes is increased until the start of electrophoresis leading to sedimentation of particles of the solid phase on the surface of the positive electrode until a crust is formed on it and, after the creation of the crust, the tension on the electrodes is further increased until the start of a regime of electrochemical decomposition of the drilling mud, the tension being maintained at such a level that the crust is conserved, at least partially, during the whole process of treatment. The device for implementing the method comprises a reservoir (1) with negative and positive electrodes (3) and (4) therein. The negative electrode is designed as a pair of hingedly interconnected plates (5) and (6) oriented at an angle to each other and across the drilling mud flow. The positive electrode (4) is of a laminated construction and is fixed in front of the hinged joint at the lower lewel of the drilling mud flow. En traitant la boue de forage en la faisant passer au travers du champ electrique de l'electrode negative d'un electrolyseur, on augmente la tension aux electrodes jusqu'au debut de l'electrophorese qui provoque une sedimentation des particules de la phase solide sur la surface de l'electrode positive jusqu'a ce qu'une croute se forme sur celle-ci, puis apres la formation de la croute, on augmente encore la tension aux electrodes jusqu'a ce que la decomposition electrochimique de la boue de forage commence, la tension etant maintenue a un niveau tel que la croute se conserve, au moins partiellement, pendant tout le traitement. Le dispositif de mise en oeuvre du procede comprend un reservoir (1) avec une electrode negative et une electrode positive a l'interieur (3 et 4). L'electrode negative est concue sous forme d'une paire de plaques reliees entre elles par une charniere (5 et 6) faisant un angle entre elles et disposes en travers de l'ecoulement de la boue de forage. L'electrode positive (4) est de structure stratifiee et elle est fixe en face du joint articule au niveau inferieur de l'ecoulement de la boue de forage.
