DIAGNOSTIC METHOD AND DEVICE FOR A WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK

The invention relates to a diagnostic method comprising, when a communication channel of an access point of the network has an occupation rate that exceeds a threshold: - identifying a predominant contribution from among a first contribution C1 to the occupation rate assigned to usage of the channel by at least one item of user equipment, and a second contribution C2 assigned to interference; - a diagnosis comprising: if C2 is predominant, detecting (E140) interference on the channel; if C1 is predominant, detecting (E70, E100, E120), depending on a distance from the access point of at least one item of user equipment associated with the access point, intensive use of the channel by the at least one item of user equipment, the presence of at least one interference device, or at least one required support action for the access point. Le procédé de diagnostic comprend lorsqu'un canal de communication d'un point d'accès du réseau présente un taux d'occupation dépassant un seuil : - l'identification d'une contribution prépondérante parmi une première contribution C1 au taux d'occupation attribuée à un usage du canal par au moins un équipement utilisateur, et une deu- xième contribution C2 attribuée à des d'interférences; - un diagnostic comprenant : si C2 est prépondérante, la détection (E140) d'interférences sur ledit canal; si C1 est prépondérante, la détection (E70, E100, E120), en fonction d'un éloignement par rapport au point d'accès d'au moins un équipement utilisateur associé au point d'accès, d'un usage intensif du canal par ledit au moins un équipement utilisateur, d'une pré- sence d'au moins un dispositif de brouillage, ou d'au moins une action de support requise du point d'accès.
