The method comprises: step 1a, acquiring a monitored pressure and/or airway flow rate of a ventilation device during the process of mechanical ventilation for a patient; step 2a, determining parameter values of respiration driving parameters according to the monitored pressure and/or airway flow rate, wherein the respiration driving parameters are used for representing the respiration effort of the patient; step 3a, performing statistical analysis on the parameter values of the respiration driving parameters, so as to determine a first target value; step 4a, comparing the first target value with a preset first range; and step 5a, according to the comparison result, adjusting and/or giving a prompt to adjust a parameter value of a ventilation support parameter, wherein the ventilation support parameter is used for reflecting the condition of the pressure or flow rate, which is set by the ventilation device.
