This map generation device comprises: an information acquisition unit that acquires position information pertaining to a specific vehicle and position information pertaining to a surrounding vehicle that is located in the surroundings of the specific vehicle from in-vehicle devices that are disposed in each of the specific vehicle and the surrounding vehicle; a reliability determination unit that determines the reliability of each of the in-vehicle devices on the basis of the degree of matching of the position information pertaining to the specific vehicle as detected by the in-vehicle device mounted in the specific vehicle and the position information pertaining to the specific vehicle as detected by the in-vehicle device mounted in the surrounding vehicle; and a map integration unit that integrates, with a map, position information pertaining to surrounding objects that is acquired from an in-vehicle device that is determined on the basis of the reliability from among the plurality of in-vehicle devices.
